The Brief // Create a prestigious publication that celebrates the life and work of Adrian Frutiger.
Solution // Two conjoined books that are a juxtaposition of different eras that can be read simultaneously. The left book represents the past (life with Frutiger), while the right represents the future (life without Frutiger). It aims to bind together people who never knew each other, connecting Frutiger with those he impacted. To pay tribute to his life’s work, I contacted design professionals, to discover the impact he had on their practice.
Magazine Layout Design
The Brief // Design a grid system and use it to create a magazine layout suitable for a design publication
Solution // A monochromatic layout that uses heirarchy and white space to display information on a 8 x 8 grid. Creating a structured, balanced, visually appealing layout.
Language and Typography Exhibition Design
The Brief // To create an exhibit for a ‘Language and Typography’ Exhibition at the British Library, London. The exhibit must be suitable for the general public rather than a purely design educated audience.
Solution // An exhibit and an accompanying concertina booklet designed to inform the general public of typeface classi cations. It consists of large letterform sculptures allowing the audience to see type in a physical form. All information on the walls of the exhibition and in the booklet, are printed backwards, to prevent the audience from being distracted by the meaning of words when they enter the room. The information can then be read when re ected through the mirrored walls and pages.

Solution // Versatile typography created with versatile materials, rubber bands and nails. Typesetting that encompasses various type weights, alignment, capitals and lower cases, used to depict the versatility of typography.
